The spotlight was shining bright as Fort Bend ISD hosted its 4th Annual FAB Awards, bringing together student athletes, coaches, families, and community supporters for an unforgettable evening dedicated to recognizing excellence in athletics and leadership.
Held at River Pointe Church in Richmond, the event transformed an ordinary evening into a celebration of hard work, resilience, teamwork, and achievement. Athletes arrived dressed for the occasion, walking the red carpet with confidence and excitement as family members and supporters captured photos and memories from a night they will cherish for years to come.
As proud sponsors of the Basketball and Track & Field categories for both male and female athletes, Youth Texas Teams was honored to be part of an event that recognizes not only athletic performance but also the character, commitment, and perseverance required to compete at a high level.
One of the highlights of the evening was recognizing the outstanding student-athletes who earned top honors in the categories sponsored by Youth Texas Teams. Congratulations to Dailon Denkins of Hightower High School, who was named Track & Field Male Athlete of the Year, and Corie Wilmington of Marshall High School, who received the Track & Field Female Athlete of the Year award. In basketball, Alvin Mosley of Crawford High School earned Basketball Male Athlete of the Year, while Ogechi Okeke of Hightower High School was recognized as Basketball Female Athlete of the Year. These remarkable athletes have demonstrated exceptional talent, dedication, leadership, and sportsmanship throughout their seasons, serving as outstanding representatives of their schools and communities.
Throughout the evening, athletes representing schools across Fort Bend ISD were recognized for their accomplishments in a variety of sports, including basketball, football, volleyball, soccer, baseball, softball, tennis, swimming, diving, golf, water polo, cheer, cross country, and track & field. Coaches, athletic trainers, student managers, and sports media contributors were also celebrated for the important roles they play in supporting student success.
The atmosphere inside the venue was filled with energy and pride. Families cheered loudly as finalists were recognized, while teammates celebrated one another’s accomplishments. Every award presented served as a reminder that success in athletics extends far beyond wins and championships. It is built through discipline, sacrifice, leadership, and the determination to overcome challenges.
The program began with welcoming remarks from Fort Bend ISD Athletics leadership, followed by a presentation of colors and a moving performance of the National Anthem. As the ceremony continued, attendees were inspired by stories of dedication and perseverance from athletes who have balanced academics, athletics, family responsibilities, and personal challenges while striving for excellence.
For Youth Texas Teams, the evening reinforced why celebrating young athletes matters. Behind every medal, record, and championship is a young person developing life skills that will serve them long after their playing days are over. Sports help build confidence, resilience, leadership, teamwork, and character—qualities that shape future leaders both on and off the field.
The FAB Awards continue to showcase the incredible talent found throughout Fort Bend ISD while highlighting the supportive communities that help student athletes thrive. More importantly, the event serves as a powerful reminder that when young people are encouraged, supported, and recognized, they are empowered to reach even greater heights.
Youth Texas Teams extends its congratulations to all nominees, finalists, winners, coaches, and supporters who helped make this year’s FAB Awards a memorable celebration of athletic excellence and youth achievement. We are proud to support and celebrate the next generation of leaders, athletes, and champions, and we look forward to continuing to spotlight the incredible accomplishments of youth athletes throughout Texas.
